Resolution on Safe Schools: Addressing Violence Prevention & Gun Violence

We are deeply concerned about the gun violence that occurs in and around K-12 schools in the United States, the effects of exposure to these incidents on students’ health and well-being, and the response of schools and communities to the violence. Schools are vital to communities, providing physical spaces and access to relationships that provide safe and supportive learning environments for students—a pivotal element in fostering academic, social, and emotional development.
